RickGretzCrossFit Peoria has helped me get in the best shape of my life, period. I can’t believe the gains I’ve made since I joined in June. I first tried CrossFit on my own at a regular gym for a few months before I joined the Peoria club. It was a challenge to say the least: few pieces of useful equipment, lines to use that equipment (especially frustrating when working out ‘for time’), unknowledgeable staff, etc. I was so happy when I found a CrossFit specific gym in the area.

The experience at CrossFit Peoria is completely different. It all starts with Bret: in addition to his wonderful ability as a trainer, he sets the tone with rules like “everyone has to introduce themselves to new members.” This creates such a friendly environment. Everyone is so supportive of each other, cheering you on and pushing you through grueling workouts. And the workouts…

Every day we push ourselves further at CrossFit Peoria than I thought was possible. It is amazing to see the difference in myself and the magnificent people I train with. It’s truly inspirational.

I guess I have a special place in my heart for CrossFit Peoria because of how much it’s helped me stay healthy. Health is an ever present concern for me; I have Cystic Fibrosis, a degenerative disease of the lungs, and always have to make sure I’m in good physical condition. About 3 months after I joined CrossFit Peoria I got a check up and my doctors told me my lungs were in the best shape they’ve ever seen.

The workouts are only part of the reason I’ve been able to be so healthy: the people I work out with have made such a difference. They know I struggle with lung problems and help me get through the toughest parts of the workout with constant encouragement. I’m 33, and in the best shape of my life. And it looks like I’ll be in even better shape when I’m 34. Thanks, everyone. Thanks, Bret. Thank you, CrossFit!!!
